CPU Temps

Hello. I recently upgraded my computer to a Intel i7-4790K, Asus Maximus VII Formula. I'm using my old heatsink from my last build "Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo". I have not overclocked it at all and I'm running 40C at idle on the cpu. Is this ok? And what would a max "safe" temp be underload?

Yes, 40 degrees at idle is perfectly normal.

That should be pretty ok, but I prefer to see a cpu in the mid-thirties at idle, dont take that cpu above 90 under load, yes t-junction is like 105c but why take the risk? Im pretty sure tho that the cpu starts throttling when it hits 95

This is relative.....

It depends on the ambiance temperature.

And 40c is just a little bit high for me.

A good idle temperature is around 30~35, as for full load not above ~75c
