Esc key muting mic?

I started a topic on this a while back. But my mic will mute itself frequently when playing games. Until recently when I tried the listen function, I found out my Esc key when pressed would toggle the mute function, I was confused why this was the reason and baffled that this is the key that does it. I hadn't changed any settings for mute hot keys or even knew you could do that. I can't find and mapping setting for windows functions and hotkeys so I will most likely have to download some software. By the way, I am using Windows 8.1 Pro.

What mic are you using? 
What programs is it muting in? (Assuming all but want to make sure.)

What third party software do you have installed for audio?

I am using a BM-800 Professional mic. I haven't installed any third party software for it either. The only thing I have installed for it has been the driver from Realtek for my board. And that was to try ti fix the problem. I don't have any other programs muting it, I can check my manager and press the Esc key and it will become muted, press again and it become unmuted. I usually have steam and discord open though, but I can check the mic settings real quick.
