Hey, I just got me new PC and was wondering if you guys could all give me some advice on what you would recommend are must do’s when you first get a new computer. I’m new to this but fairly competent. I am going to be using this for gaming and streaming.

Thanks in advance!

Download steam and look for games that you want to buy (hopefully you installed windows 10 64-bit on a SSD). I don’t know what your planning on doing but get games and software like obs,MSI afterburner (if your over clocking), some rgb software for whatever. Rgb stuff you have and that’s all I can say

hey, can you please share your specs?

what i only install on PC my are essential tools like HWMonitor, CCleaner, Office, Chrome, game launchers (steam, ubisfoft,origin...). for streaming, there are a lot of stuff that you can use, but it will be best to check first your specs if can you really just plug and play and stream your game.

Sweet set up! i think you're good to go on streaming. :) check tutorials as well on how to set up your streaming. Nvidia has this tool called "shadow play" that allows you to stream your games on the fly. Download your latest driver in Nvidia Geforce. It should contain two package, one for the driver and the other one is GeForce Experience. Install twitch as well to manage your streaming online.

BUT before doing the this stuff, i recommend to you to update your OS to its latest version. I'm not sure if the October update is already fix because it deletes your personal file. so before doing installing apps, makes sure to do this first.

I suggest that you should install your "Main" games to your SSD for snappy loading time, then you can use your 1tb for other games and your personal files. Also, if you want to record your game, use your 1TB instead of SSD. This is just my personal opinion and you can still choose which one you should be using.

For editing your video, you can either use Adobe Premier Pro for starters. this tool is probably not ideal for beginners, but it was my first editing tool for cut and paste clips and i find it much easier to use.

How about your internet connection? to stream on highest setting and resolution, you need to have a good internet connection. go to this site to test your download and upload speed. the ideal connection is both of your download and upload speed should be the same. If you have a high download and low upload speed, that will cause you some problems on streaming, but you can still share your game by recording it, edit, then upload in youtube.
