So about a year ago I bought a cheap microphone from eBay for about £20, along with a power brick (I guess you could call it that) and a USB sound card. I have recently moved my setup around, moving my PC to under my bed for more space on my desk (my desk is tiny and I have a small form factor pc). I go to try and plug my microphone in to play a game of GTA and discover my microphone not working. I double checked that all the wires are connected properly and then did a PC reboot. Still nothing. I tried using my old headset on the sound card and it worked fine, no issues at all. I don't want to go buying a whole new mic and power as that is costly and I don't have enough money for that. Is there any way that someone can see what it is? I don't have another microphone I can use for testing. Below are the images of the sound card, microphone and power.

I've experienced XLR cables going bad, especially if bent hard or being stretched. Try replacing the XLR cable.

I noticed that after updating my graphics driver, my sound output changes from my headphones to my monitor, which has a built-in speaker, so it might be something similar. Maybe have a look in the Windows settings.

I've checked Windows Settings and it is being picked up through the sound card but no actual audio is being picked up. I tried reinstalling the drivers, updating the drivers and still nothing.

I'll have a look for some and see whether that fixes the issue.

Can you suggest any? From Amazon UK or eBay. Ideally to be shipped this week.

Do you need XLR to XLR or XLR to 3.5mm microphone jack? Or XLR to USB (that has a USB soundcard integrated)?

I don't know what's broken on the microphone. I have a feeling it's the cable inside of the stand and I can't get that one out. I really don't have the money to go buying a brand new microphone.
