Cheaper Ram OC or Factory OC

Hey, just joined because I had a question about ram; if I just want an extra 200mhz or so should I save myself 15$ and just overclock cheaper ram? Is it worth?

You can overclock cheaper RAM but just like higher quality RAM you might need to loosten your timings.  I promise you there is no difference in real world with added 200Mhz on RAM.  Instead try to keep its stock speed and play with the timings which will yeidl better latencies and what not.

I would try to play with all variations that may prove stable.  If you can add some more speed while maintaining timings then I would try that and then see if you can keep your original speed and tighten its timings.  Compare the results of both with something like Geekbench 3 or Geekbench 4.
