Hello i was looking for upgrading my current pc (i5 4440 / 1050ti / 16gb ddr3 1600mhz) and i have 2 options to chose from. Either upgrade my current cpu to i7 4790k, or upgrade my gpu to gtx 1070. Which one would make better improvement in fps? I know that 1070 is gonna have bottleneck in performance but i don't know if it would run faster than 1050ti with i7 4790k.

How about you upgrade the GPU then sell the old GPU and the CPU and buy a CPU?

Then you have to tell us which games you're playing. Some would profit from a stronger CPU (like Battlefield V) and some where the i5 isn't a bottleneck would profit from a stronger GPU.

Hey my friend, don't you think his i5 4400 won't cut the rug.  So just getting the GPU is pointless.  Like 191x7 said you'll need a new CPU as well.  We don't know what resolution you play at or game settings or games so let us know so we can help you better.

How about you upgrade the CPU first and then, in a few months (once we see some new cards and some price drops) the GPU?

I had an FX 8300 with my to 380x which is only slightly stronger than the 1050Ti and I switched to a Ryzen 5 1600X with the intent to upgrade my GPU in a few months.

I'd recommend a platform upgrade. Maybe to something like a ryzen. You can easily build a ryze cpu + mobo + ram in under $300. Also, you can sell ur existing cpu + mobo + ram combo.
