Generic 1080

Go to solution Solved by zombienerd,

I haven't personally used any of the aftermarket coolers, but I've re-pasted and re-padded quite a few cards.  Just take your time and be gentle, and you'll be good to go.

Here's a video of TechYes installing an Accellero on the 1080ti - pretty much the same deal.

I salvaged a generic 1080 card from an Alienware computer... When I say generic, I mean generic! It works fine but it runs very hot with it's single fan.  Is it possible replace the case/fan with one from another 1080 card? Difficulty/risk involved?  Too lazy to open up my PC so I got some pics from Google.

Thanks!

Thank you both.

@zombienerd  Do you have any experience doing so? Any super fragile components that I should be worried about?

Could look for an evga acx cooler for the 1080.

Would sell you one but I got rid of them all.

Fits perfectly and performs. Doesn’t look as bad as artic stuff either.
