Mac OS vs Linux (Ubuntu)

Any additional advantages of going with a Mac OS computer for networking since Mac OS is loosely based on Linux?

Uhhhh ...... ........ ............ I myself don't really know. 

 

I have a school assignment and it asks me to create a tender for a made-up university who is developing a new networking lab class. 

 

I assume what they mean by networking is configuration.......

I think I'm going to write in my fake tender that a Windows computer is good enough.
