Im still using a 3570 and its doing fine on some games I play but it can show its age on more cpu bound games or badly optimized ones. Im also using my pc for streaming with a gtx 970 and 12gb of ddr3 1600mhz. I'm not sure if i should just buy an i7 3770 and just call it a day. I mean I want to know if someone here is still using a 3770 and tell me their experience on gaming and streaming with it. My other option is just sell my mobo, ram, and cpu, to buy a ryzen 5 cpu but that's gonna cost more. so my main question is, is an i7 3770 still good or gonna last in terms of gaming and streaming? thanks

You can do it but it will slow down your FPS while recording cuz the CPU will hit 100 percent usage and choke.  Is it possible YES, Can you do it, YES ,, but its gonna tax your system good.  If only you had the K version we could overclock her and sorta lift some of the bottleneck you got going on.

i mean i stream at 720p30fps on nvenc with 2300kbps and one game I stream most of the time is mhw and that pushes my cpu at 100%.. I'm curious if I buy a 3770, would that give me more headroom when it comes to playing the game while streaming. And I'd like to know if a 3770 is still viable in 2019 considering some games coming out recently started to benefit cpus with more cores

Ok, your CPU came after Sandy Bridge which ended up being a huge success.  The 4 core 8 thread sandy bridge 2600k was and still is a monster.  Fine maybe video encoding will take 5 minutes slower or 10 who cares.  My old man has had his Sandy Bridge 2600k since 2011 and coupled with SSD and 16GB RAM it is fast and handles anything you throw at it.  Then came your CPU the 37xx and 39xx series.  You are on 4 core 8 thread if Im not mistaken.  Unless your on 4 core 4 thread.  I forgot ?

i5 3570 is 4c4t.. i7 3770 is 4c8t @Turtle Rig so, consdering i'm on a tight budget, I should get an i7 3770 as opposed to getting a newer cpu with mobo and ram? I just wanted assurance that the i7 3770 is still viable for gaming on a budget in 2019

It is viable, but it is not overclocked and that hurts a lot.  If it was a k chip I would say no bottleneck as long as you have a nice nice overclock on her.  But a non k chip will not keep up with a more current 10xx or 20xx or AMD's offerings. By keeping up I mean AAA experience.  But it will run 60fps 1080p like butter and never slow down from 60fps with all eye candy on.

Personally I would stick with your CPU as its only one gen below mine and mine beats a 8700k stock in Aida64 CPU Queen test.  So it is not dated just needs a OC which we cant do.  In that case I must say good look but dont expect 100fps and more unless you play at 1400x900 resolution.  yikes!

@Turtle Rig considering i still have a 1366x768 monitor (planning to upgrade next month or next week). So okay, its better if I get a 3770k and overclock it as much as I can? Im concerned with thermals cuz my pc gets hot like when i start to game, both my cpu and gpu reach 80c already and i have 2 intakes, and 2 exhaust. but okay i'll take you up on your advice and upgrade to an i7 3770
