Hey guys.

I'm in the market for a USB dedicated microphone (don't have a mixer or anything to mix analogue signal)

I came across the AT2020, I really like the look of this, and I've watched a few reviews and tests on youtube.

I just thought I'd ask in here, if anyone has used it etc? pros and cons?

I'll be doing tutorials for software/programming related tasks, and I need the mic to be clear as possible but also under $200 NZD.

Thanks guys.

~Dylan.

Hello, that's a really good microphone, haven't owned it but have used it.

Another great option will be the Blue Yeti a really high quality microphone with some features that the AT2020 doesn't have like 4 pattern settings (Basically it's what the microphone picks-up): Stereo (Front,Left and Right), Omnidirectional (360 Degrees), Bidirectional (Front and Back Only) and Cardioid (only Front), where the AT2020 only feature the Cardioid.

The Blue yeti also feature an Headphone jack for zero latency monitoring, an headphone volume control knob, a gain (how much volume will the microphone pick) control knob and the pattern settings control knob.

But remember that you are buying an Condenser microphone (both the AT2020 and the Blue Yeti are Condenser microphones) which is alot MORE sensitive therefor picking quite some background noise unlike a Dynamic microphone which tends to be alot LESS sensitive and therefor picking much more less backround noise.

Intel core i7 2600 @ 3.4Ghz w/ Scythe Mugen 3 RevB, Galaxy Geforce GTX 670 GC edition, G.skill Ripjawz 2x4GB, Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H, 1TB WD Blue, CMStorm Enerofrcer w/ Side Window, 600W PSU.

Audio setup: Schiit Modi/Magni, Rode Procaster,Focusrite Scarlet 2i2, Rode PSA1, Rode PSM1, Beyerdynamic DT250-80ohm.
