I've recently build my first computer for gaming, spent $400 to $500 on all of it. Runs well enough for my first build but I would like to get into overclocking so I'm now building a cheaper (under $200) pc that will be less of a blow to the boys if I mess something up. I got a AMD A8-3800 Series AD3870WNZ43GX + ASUS F1A55-M SOCKET FM1 AMD A55 CHIPSET MICRO ATX MOTHERBOARD + COOLER MASTER Extreme Power Plus Power Supply 500w + and a few unbranded AMD 2GB DDR3 1600 MHz PC3-12800U 240 PINs DIMM RAM sticks (took the name straight off eBay, can you tell lol)

After I set up Windows what are some programs I can download to help me out in this process? Also does anyone know of a guide I can reference when in the bios? Youtube is not that helpful, the one video I found the guy was all over the place when he overclocked this apu.

When overclocking your CPU, the only software you can install to help with is going to be benchmarks like Cinebench (For stability testing use AIDA 64/Prime 95 so that there's no doubt).

As for how, the process is pretty simple. Just go into your BIOS and slowly crank up voltages/clock speeds until you have something stable that you're happy with.

"uhhhhhhhhhh yeah id go with the 2600 its a good value for the money"
