Hi,

I am going to make a build centered around the AMD Ryzen 3 2200G.

I would like to use the ASUS PRIME A320M-K motherboard (for various purposes).

I checked the Amazon page and ASUS's website, and it looks like a BIOS update is needed for support for the 2200G's Vega graphics.

I was wondering, is it possible to do a BIOS update with the current version and CPU, or without the CPU entirely? I have another machine/storage media (but not another Ryzen) that I could use to transfer files, but can I do it?

Any help is welcome!

The board doesn't support USB BIOS Flashback, so you would need a currently compatible CPU for current BIOS

OK, so is there any motherboard that would be able to support the 2200G without a BIOS update? All I have is an AMD Athlon with an AM3 socket.

You can get a free CPU from AMD's boot kit on their website

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

OK, thanks for that! For anyone who's wondering, you can find the boot kit instructions here.

Wait whaattt....?? That's pretty awesome and do I read correctly that they let you just keep the heat sink?

If it's JUST the processor graphics that don't work without BIOS flash could you pop in a graphics card and flash?

It's an athlon, it has graphics

Unless you mean a 2200g, but it's not just the graphics in that case
