Hi,

First post here, I am computer literate to a degree but minutia details are not my strong point. I have a couple of running old LGA 775 xp (32bit) computers that i am planning on swapping parts across and buying better parts to upgrade certain parts to make one "really" good xp gaming computer but i am not sure if all the parts will work together and/or will develop weird bottlenecks or artifacting.

planned build is:

Intel Core2Duo E8600 (3.33Ghz,6M,1333) CPU  (purchased and waiting to arrive) - Not planning on cranking the clock to 11 but what minimum rating should i be looking at for CPU air cooler?

Gigabyte ga-945gcmx-s2 rev 6.6 Motherboard

2* 2Gb ddr2-800 ram sticks

600w Thermaltake Litepower PSU

120gb SSD for OS (still need to buy)

1Tb HDD For game software and steam libary

I have an ASUS EAH5450 (1Gb) silent graphics card but i am considering upgrading to an actively cooled gt1030 with 2Gb gddr5. Also i have: Celeron D 346 (3.06Ghz/256K/533), Pentium 4 530J (3.0Ghz/1G/800) and a Core2Duo E6320 (1.86Ghz/4M/1066) CPUs which i can use.

Is my planned build solid or am i looking at issues down the path

Thank you for your time.

Ben

A Core 2 Duo will be fine with literally any air cooler on the market. And if you're considering gt1030, don't. Buy a used cheap GPU off Ebay for much better performance. Maybe a Radeon 7950 or GTX 760.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
