Second card not outputting

So I want to run a second computer off my original computer and it said I need two graphics cards. Ok so I went and got my old one, but it won’t output. What could be causing this?

Explain your setup. What do you mean by "off my original computer?" Is this a virtual machine?

Do you mean a second screen?

One graphics card can handle multiple displays, mine is running 3

No I mean having two workstations off of one computer. My first card is an rx 580 and the second one is an hd 5870

Define workstation. A workstation would be a single computer so you must mean something different.

So, I want two computers running off of one. Each has its own mouse and it’s own keyboard

So you want what is effectively two computers so two people can use it at once?

Your gonna need more than just a graphics card to do that. You could use a vm.

Still though, that won't allow a second keyboard and mouse to be used if it's something like virtual box. A better option would be to use an actual hypervisor.

You are going to have to completely re-do everything, you are going to have to run both systems in a virtual machine on top of a hypervisor. and configure passthrough for certain devices, look at linuses X gamers 1 CPU videos

unraid would probably work great since it supports GPU passthrough.

I already have a program to do this, it just can’t run off of the same graphics card
