Well, here it goes.

I just bought a new graphics card to replace my GT 1030. I bought a shiny new Rx480. Once I installed it however, I ran into some trouble. When I turn my computer on, the fans spin and the motherboard lights turn on. The monitor however, does nothing. Stays blank. My peripherals don’t light up either. The most frustrating thing is if I put my old graphics card back in, it works fine! With my new card in, my pc doesn’t even post. The fans spin and the hard drive clicks, but that’s it.

What I have tried:

Uninstalling all drivers with DDU

Re-Assembling My pc

One stock of ram

Many restarts.

Im unable to flash the bios

My build:

Intel core i5 2310

Radeon RX480 (The Referance one)

Intel dh61cr motherboard

Corsair CX450 psu

750 gigabyte HDD

So, does it boot with the display hooked up to the integrated graphics and the 480 in?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

the recommended PSU for rx 480 is 500W it might be this.

try to calculate how many watts are you consuming.

http://www.coolermaster.com/power-supply-calculator/

and if you have another PSU laying around try to connect the GPU to the other one while the rest of your pc connected to the 450W.

my current home setup:cpu:amd ryzen 2700 // cpu cooler :aigo 120mm aio // mobo:gigabyte ab350-gaming 3 // ram:crosair vengance 8*4 // gpu:amd rx 5700 //

tower:antec p8 // psu:antec HCG 650w.

my current work setup: cpu:intel xeon x5675 // cpu cooler :generic 6 copper pipe // mobo: x58 lga 1366 chines motherboard // ram: 32GB ecc // gpu:amd r7 260x //

psu:antec 550w.

my current home server setup:cpu:intel xeon x5690 // cpu cooler :aigo 120mm aio // mobo: x58 lga 1366 chines motherboard // ram:crucial 8*2 // gpu:amd rx 580 //

tower:antec p110 silent // psu:antec HCG 850w.

I ran into a similar issue with my system. What I wound up having to do is making sure my bios was at the latest release and clearing the CMOS after.  Plus remember to DDU your old video drivers so you don't get conflicts.

Your wattage listed is 408W.

458W is the recommended wattage according to the calculator.

Eight more watts that your current PSU could handle at max load -being advised that no PSU can sustain its max load indefinitely.

I personally prefer to use the formula:

(4/5)*LISTED PSU WATTAGE=Total Sustainable Output

So in this case: (3/5)*450=270W

Definitely try a higher watt PSU first and see if the results may work better.
