RAM compatibility check

Hi all

 

I was looking at upgrading my RAM from 16GB to 32GB, and was browsing for 32GB RAM and found this one https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232091&ignorebbr=1  I was wondering if this would be compatible with my motherboard/system. I checked on PC part picker and it said it was compatible but just wanted to make sure.

 

My system:

CPU: Intel Core i7-8700 @ 3.20GHz

RAM: 16.0GB Dual-channel https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232242

MOBO: Gigabyte B360 Arous gaming 3 https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813145061

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB

CPU Cooler: CORSAIR HYDRO SERIES H75 AIO Liquid CPU Cooler

My bad it only supports 2 x 16GB or 2 x 32GB sticks of DDR4 2666. And it doesn't support 

ECC Memory

So I just searched up, my CPU can only support DDR4 2666 MHz RAM so something like this https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233865&Description=32GB 2666&cm_re=32GB_2666-_-20-233-865-_-Product would work, not be limited, and would be an upgrade?

 

Also, I currently have two sticks of 8GB of RAM, my MOBO can support 4, if I get two sticks of 32GB of RAM can I install them along with the other two?

Yes that will work fine you can have up to 4 sticks of the same ram but it wont be optimal with the old ram. So you're best upgrading to the new ram and selling the old ram to buy another kit of the same model DDR4 2666.

Ok, I think I will just upgrade to the two 32GB sticks and this https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233865&Description=32GB 2666&cm_re=32GB_2666-_-20-233-865-_-Product will fit with my mobo?
