Help: Windows file sharing issue.

Even after turning off password protected sharing windows still prompts for one when trying to access the shared folder from another pc.

Make sure that the user group "Everyone" has at least read access in both NTFS and DFS permissions. Also, make sure to restart the server service on the hosting PC.

You also want to verify "Guest" access is enabled. Windows by default will attempt to use a Guest/Anonymous account to access the storage which is a little more defined in SMB 2 and "everyone" doesn't cover Guest (I believe you still have to be an authenticated account).
