Hello guys

I just my new laptop ( Dell XPS 9570) and I would like to upgrade the intermal storage from 256 to 500gb .The laptop has only one slot for an m.2 driver and it is occupied of course .I searching for a way to mirror the current driver (os,apps, files etc) to the new driver I can't find a way .Has anyone tried in the past to do that ?

I know that for example Samsung SSD's have the magician app that mirrors the driver that is used at the moment to the new SSD through a USB 3 cable and an adapter in the SSD .I can't not find a similar case for the M.2 .

Thanks in advance .

That depends on whether your current SSD is a NVMe drive or a SATA drive in an M.2 form factor.

There are bridges that enable you to connect both types via USB, so it is certainly possible, but you have to determine which one you have to get the right adapter.

That one would for example work with a PCI-E NVMe SSD. ;)

Regarding mirroring - there's a couple ways, from open-source solutions (Clonezilla) to shareware and paid apps (Acronis TrueImage, EaseUs Todo Backup) and so on.

Hello Rahnie

The current SSD installed is M.2 NVME and the new one i want to by is also M.2 NVME , is there a way to migrate all the data from the old one to the new ?

If no in order to install windows in the new M.2 is the same a normal hard drive or ssd (for example boot from USB ,instal in the M.2 etc)

Best Regards
