Hey there!

I have been getting some crashes and there are a few things that might be causing it, because I upgraded these a month ago and it just started a few days ago. before the upgrade I had no problems:

-I have Cablemod Cables could one of them be faulty or have a loose connection?

-Rtx 2070 (drivers)?

-RAM (had this since the beginning) crashed at 3000mhz so I use DOCP and 2933mhz (used to be stable, less chrashes when I run at stock (2133mhz).

-Anker usb hub (how? idk)

my other specs are: r5 2600, asus strix b450-f, gigabyte rtx 2070 windforce, 16gb gskill trident z rgb (2x8 3000mzh (running atm at 2133)), cryorig h7, seasonic focus plus gold 650W.

What happens: sometimes (really really irregular) my pc shuts down, and immediatly starts up, so basically goes to windows log in. Other times my keyboard will lose power, and my monither will lose signal (just black). I then have to flip the psu switchm, as the power button doesn't do anything, and wait for the system to "drain". only then I can restart it.

I really have no clue what is causing this, but I think it is something with either psu, cables or ram.

Also I use asus aura for my motherboard and rgb fusion for the gpu, however sometimes rgb fusion just turns on for a brief moment in the taskbar, my system lags alot and my ram lights go of to turn on again after half a second (to the same coour). Could this also have anything to do with my problem?

Any help would be appreciated.

were u overclocking?

no, not on cpu, gpu however I have tried getting the ram to 3000mhz (it is now at default)

how much did u push the gpu(offset)

I think what I said was unclear; no overclocking on gpu or cpu. only thing i tried oc'ing was the ram (trident z)

oh ok, im sorry but im really not that sure with ram overclocking. I just keep my ram at manufacturer speed with the given recommended timings, you should probably asked somone with more experience, how about just running the ram bone stock(ryzen dos like fast ram but above 2666 and ur good)

Right now I am running it stock (2133mhz) It also happens when I run it a 3000mhz or 2933mhz

Step one with any troubleshooting is to reset everything back to factory default.

This includes going into the BIOS and setting it all back to factory fresh.

Test your RAM with MemTest86+

If you are getting BSoDs, you can post the crashdump files here and I can analyze them.

Im not getting any bluescreens, my pc just quits outputting signal to the monitor and usb devices or restarts, with only showing kernel power error in event viewer

I'll run memtest

So if you are getting spontaneous reboots, that's a pretty good indicator you have a failing power supply. But tell us what MemTest says, we'll take it from there...

If there is a power issue, could it be due to (Cablemod) extensions? And what would be a way to test the psu, I can play games on 2560x1080 high without it failing

Unless the cablemod extensions are not properly connected, they are highly unlikely to be the issue.

If you can stress test the system under a gaming load and not have a reboot, then the problem is probably not the power supply. Only way to test it would be to get a known good (typically brand new) PSU and see if anything changes, but let's hold off on that for the time being under we know the status of your RAM.

I assume it is highly unlogical it has something to do with buggy rgb software, correct?

If the software is written badly enough, then theoretically it can, but it's gotta be really bad software to do that.

I'll get back to you when memtest finishes, it at 40% of pass 3

Ok, ram looks good.

Question, there are several MemTest sites out there, which one did you use?

Ok. good enough. So RAM seems to be fine. No BSoD, which means, probably, failing power supply. This gets tricky to test, because money is involved. You need to beg/borrow/steal/buy a known good power supply, and test with that for a week, or until the problem happens again.

If the issue occurs again, then we have a real expense on our hands (GFX, Mobo or CPU in roughly that order)

Do you have a known good spare GFX card you can test with?

Should I start with a different psu or start with a different gpu?

Which ever is easiest to acquire. Personally I'd start with the PSU, do everything exactly as you have done before, and see what happens (or doesn't happen, as the case may be)

I've checked with some people around me, and noone has anything spare. I'll guys I'll have to buy a new psu after the weekend :/

Keep the receipt in case you need to return it.

Do you have access to a known good video card instead? We can start with that....

Sorry for the late replies, but i just woke up xD. I also have no access to a gpu, but a psu is cheaper to get.
