Hey

my main screen just suddenly was completely white.

I had nothing running but on my left screen google chrome with a discord tab and on the right screen I just started watching Netflix in a chrome tab when this happened:

I've my hardware set to glow green when it's "cold", yellow when it is getting warmer and red for hot- all is green. Nothing running- I don't understand this problem.

Could it mean that the graphics card is damaged?

Or is it something in windows?

Well, this thread fell through the cracks. Sorry that you didn't get any help.

If you still need some help on this, read on.

It's not necessarily related to the GPU.
It can be the video cable(HDMI?) itself that's bad (especially if it's a low quality one that you got for super cheap on ebay) or even the monitor that's dying out.
For example, I had this happen with my old monitor :

You can see that it's a multicolored snowy mess, but it does happen sometimes that a dead monitor would just be bright white or completely black as well.

The next time you see this happen, try to fiddle with the menu buttons of your monitor, see if you can see the OSD(on screen display) on the screen. If you can, it's likely a windows/PC/video cable issue, if you can't, then it's a monitor issue.

I don't personally think it's a GPU issue, especially if your second monitor has no issue. But you could always try a different output at the back of your GPU, who knows, maybe that particular HDMI/DP port died.

If you're using a Display port cable... Well they are known to be annoying sometimes.

No problem

I am actually very surprised that you responded now and even say "sorry", you really don't need to do that- I have to thank you very much! :)

*edit*

I think, now that you have written it, that my on screen control from the screen itself- did not show / work.

So that might be the answer to the problem- I need a new monitor :)

It is good that you've been able to pinpoint your issue.
