I've just upgraded my second PC (mobo case and RAM) and it won't post.

Upgraded from a full working system.

SPECS:

I7-4790k

Asus Z97-AR

Corsair Vengeance Pro 1866 (4 x 4gb)

Thermaltake 80+ bronze PSU

GTX 1060 6GB

It turns on but the memoryok led goes to solid red.

All lights go on, power to USB but no signal to the monitor.

I've tried pressing the button, it goes through the sequence of the red light blinking at different rates and no difference.

Any ideas on how to get it to work?

Do you have some spare memory modules to test? Try start with one memory module and verify that all the slots work.

No spare memory modules unfortunately. I've tested with using just one and just 2 and no change. It's 2 sets of matched pairs.

The only things I can think of are

1. Taking the cmos battery out for half an hour to see if that helps

2. Checking the mobo for bent pins but no indication of a CPU error

3. Somehow getting hold of 1600 ddr3 to see if that works

Unplug the GPU and all extra ram, leave only the bare essentials needed to POST. Try all 4 sticks of ram and all 4 slots individually so you can narrow down the problem. If that does not work, check the mobo for bent pins or dirt on the bottom of the CPU.
