Need help regarding a friend's PC

The issue, I think, has something to do with the power delivery. After using it for hours (with no problems whatsoever) when he tries switches it off and then tries to power it on again, it doesn't work. The light on the motherboard also switches off indicating that there's no power going to it. The only fix he's found (so far) is unplugging and re-plugging the power cable back into the power supply a couple of times. Can anyone suggest possible fixes or troubleshooting suggestions?

EVGA 1080 FTW
Asus H-97 Plus
Cooler Master V650

2 x 8 GB DDR3 RAM
