Hi,

I am currently using this set of ram:

8GB (2 x 4GB) PC3-15000 (1866MHz) Enhanced Latency Kit (PXD38G1866ELK)

  • Extreme Performance PC3-15000 (1866MHz)
  • Enhanced Latency (9-10-9-27)
  • Voltage: 1.5V
  • XMP 1.3 Ready
  • Equipped with an extruded aluminum shield build around a copper core to provide improved cooling
  • 100% Tested and Verified
  • RoHS Compliant
  • Tested on Intel® P67 and Z77 platforms

and since the speed is at 1866, I thought I could pair it up with:

However, when I put it together, the system wont boot.

Any Help?

Motherboard: Gigabyte z77 ud5h

CPU: IB 3570K

I can't get the patriot link to work, but if the mobo is trying to use one of the XMP profiles then I could see it failing, I'm assuming the timings will be somewhat different between the two.

maybe disable xmp in the bios?

HI, thank you for the reply and hmm interesting that the link didn't work.

But when I do it separately, the patriot one uses the XMP profile wich is at 1866MHz.

When I use the Kingston one only, it will also use the XMP profile at 1866MHz.

So try at default? see if they work?

The thing you have to keep in mind is that XMP is more than just frequency, it's a full profile, so voltage, timings, the lot.

if the 2 different sets of memory use different voltages and different timings, that could absolutely cause problems.

Can you copy the product details off the patriot page for me so we can compare between the two?

I took a look at the patriot page and searched for the kingston set as well, looks like the voltages are the same

if you put the kingston in and leave the patriot out does it work?

Yea, I tried using only the Kingston one, and it works fine.
