my mobo gd45 by msi doesnt have any noticeable switches so im wondering how do i turn it on to test, i have everything hooked up to it but i got no go go

Did you hook up the front panel connectors correctly? 

its not in the case as im testing it before i put it in my case

You will have to short out the two connectors that turn on the computer. You can always use something like a screw driver, or just use the front panel connectors but don't put the mobo in the case.
