Laptop GPU acting up

My laptop GPU recently stopped working. It was running fine before but recently it has stopped running and doesn't show up in the Device Manager, and ive tried solutions such as resetting the BIOS to default settings and updating it etc. I believe the issue is in that the BIOS is not recognising it/ picking it up but I don't know how to fix this. Any help would be appreciated! I will also be very active in terms of replies if more info is needed! (The GPU is the Nvidia Georce 840M and its being run in the HP Envy 15 J100-NI)
