Static coming from monitor

Flambard
Go to solution Solved by Jihakuz,

Might be the cable or a dying monitor, probably the first of the two.

Hello everyone,

About a month or so ago a static sound started coming out of my monitor, after un-plugging and re-plugging it stopped however it would occasional come back. The static crackling sound is now a constant, does anyone know what this could be. Others have suggested it could be my plug socket not being grounded but I have had the monitor plugged into an extension lead in two different houses with the same effect.

[Edit] monitor is a BenQ 27inch 144hz
