What are jumpers? What do they do? Is it safe to be changing jumper settings? I am asking this as I just watched this video,

which might solve my problem of my computer not shutting down. What happens to mine is what happens to the guy in the video.

Basically it enables you to clear the RTC(Real Time Clock) RAM in CMOS. It's a real time record of time, date ect.

What do you mean it's not shutting down? If you're having the issue the guy in the video is having, his was because of a faulty power supply that was not switching off.

Did you try using this command in cmd: "shutdown /s /full /t 0" (without the quotes) to perform a full shutdown? Did you try waiting a while to see if it shuts down? The jumper basically resets your bios and time like windspeed36 said. You could reset your bios settings through the bios if you don't want to use the jumper.

I have not tried a full shutdown yet. But I did wait an hour to see if it shut down but it didn't.

I am going to try the paper clip test to short the green and black wires on the 24pin power cable and see if the fans on the PSU start spinning.
