So I have two twin cards and have been experiencing severe issues related to temps. as in every CF config the top card is the hottest one but here's the problem with my computer: whenever the 1st (top) card hits 74C the computer freezes and not even the restart button works, the only way it restart is by pulling he PSU power cord which seems extra weird since what would cause the case restart button to stop working?

I'm doing everything I can to prevent the top card from hitting 74C but seems impossible when running games like No Man's Sky

weather is extremely humid and hot throughout the whole year where I live and problems like these are constant for me with any computer but this kind of freezing is something new, hope anyone can help, btw here's what I did so far

- uninstall and reinstall drivers

- use the CD to install the old drivers

- flip cards, same happened with any card on slot #1

- use only 1 card, obviously nothing happened since the max temp on it was 67C

- point a desk fan towards the case, it only delays the inevitable

- stress tested with Furmark

did some googling and found out the throttling temp on this card is 90C so it makes no sense, the cards were new when I bought them so no one mined or tinkered with them previously.

Try change the thermal paste. And maybe configure your fans to pull air away from the card it self as you mentioned it's humid.

Also don't get just any thermal paste, get a high ratted one.

Hi, just replaced paste on both, used MX4 which is the same I've used for the CPU.

played ~15 min of the witcher 3 and the same happened.

remove the crossfire and retest. you'd tried, but didn't say if the issue persisted, only the temp was lower 67°

nothing happened because the temp was low

could slow down the fans on purpose though, gonna check it.

same but this time it froze when the card hit 76C, tried both cards on games and furmark and both failed at 76C

well guess I'm screwed. only thing I can think about is that the cooling MSI used isn't proper for a card like this, the heatsink is really thin, I miss the Lightning series.

Manually set fan speed to 100% via MSI afterburner.

If that doesn’t work you could mod your case to have a fan blowing air right on the top of the card. But have your rear fans blowing out and have the front blowing in.

Good way to manually cool the card. If you do such remember to set a high fan speed.

Hi

Fans ramp up to 100% whenever the card hits 70C so that's not an issue

I have two Deltas from my old 290X build, maybe it's time to put them to use once again

But I still don't understand why your card crashes at such a low temp. I'm out of ideas lol.
