I'm planning on an upgrade in the next couple of days which I will hopefully last me for years and years. My question is will DDR4 2666 work with the I9 9900K, because I have seen a video on it where it isn't explicitly spoken about but it's there in the benchmark results when comparing different speeds, I have also seen a lot of posts on other help forums but the question is never answered. I'm planning on getting 32GB (either 16x2 or 4x8 haven't decided yet) but the price of 2666 is about £30 cheaper than a kit of 2400, and bearing in mind that I don't want to spend more than I already have to. All I really want to know is, will there be any issues with 2666 MHz with a I9 9900k?

You can run any MHz of memory on any CPU, it just slows down if needed. In this case you can totally use 2666MHz kit on 9900k, no matter if it's actually 2666 or lower frequency when in use. Since Z chipset boards support overclocking you can even go past 2666.

To be completely honest. In your situation you should just got for something around 3200.... If you want your computer to be amazing and last you that long. Saying you don't really have a budget from the i9 you posted. That would be the best, or something just higher end? Bet luck on building!
