I bought a Steelseries Diablo III Edition mouse around when Diablo 3 first launched. Its been a year and a half since then and I have used the mouse daily. Yesterday, I noticed the mouse felt pretty sticky at some places which is weird since I dont eat food around my computer. I wet some tissue with water and began to clean the surface of the mouse and it only seemed to make it even stickier. As if Ive smudged the sludge all over my mouse. As I continued rubbing the sludge off the mouse, I realized that it was the soft touch coating that has degraded overtime and Im actually rubbing that off. Seeing theres nothing I can do at that point, I used a more aggressive cleaning method, rubbing alcohol, and tried to get as much of that sticky substance off, and patted it dry with toilet paper, trying to get as much lint on the mouse as possible so it doesnt stick to my hand as I lift my arm off the table.

Anyone experience the same with their mouse? Im quite disappointed at that coating seeing how I use the mouse daily. There isnt any reason why it would degrade like that. Im going to replace the mouse with a logitech G500s mouse for their engineered coating on the mouse in hopes it will last longer.

I'm here for the Logitech mouse. I have the G500 (I know one gen older). The only complaint I have with the mouse is that every so often when I'm really moving it around (like in War Thunder) it stops responding and it takes a sec to recalibrate or something like that. Other than that I have no complaint with my mouse and hopefully it was just my mouse or they fixed with the latest mouses.
