Windows 10 update query

Hi!

 

So I had tried to install windows 10 on my 8.1 laptop during the free installation period. Something went awry and the pc wouldn't go past the manufacturer splash screen. I had to reinstall windows 8.1 to go back to normal. Now was the problem a one-off thing (maybe where a file was corrupted) or was something wrong with my pc settings (or anything else) and the problem would occur again if I try to install windows 10?
