needing advice

I have a hp Compaq pro 6300. I am having issue playing a Java game and have been told that it is do to the graphic card (even going as for as telling me that my card is not supported by windows 10). Is there anything in a new graphic card I need to look for if I decide to buy a new one not saying I am going to buy one just looking for now and dont really know if it is worthy it for one game
