I have an idea for you: Wait until CES 2019 to decide what CPU to get because AMD will be releasing Zen 2 chips, which are rumoured to have up to 16 cores (for only $500 USD).

 

Once these new chips are released, the price of older ones will drop and more used CPUs will get onto the used market, which is when you'll want to buy something.
