Hello, newbie from Sweden here.

New on forums but long time follower of ltt on youtube.

I'm looking for an upgrade of the GPU for my old system hosting a gtx 770 that no longer pulls it weight when gaming.

I dont think i'm bottlenecked on anything but feel free to call me out on that. It's a custom system that i've upgraded here and there over the years, but the chassi and PSU are almost 10 years old.

I had to double check but I have both an 8 and a 6 pin from PSU.

Ill be driving on a G-synced 1440p 144 hz monitor (165OC), and no, nothing has ever run at 144 fps on this GPU. Does minesweeper count?

I'm aiming at a mid tier 2060/70 RTX card, have always gone for Asus since early 2000s and have no experience of other manufacturers.

I find it impossible to keep track of gpu stats between cards to have a clue what to get. 2070 this or 1070Ti that?

In regards to the below system, what card gives the most bang for the buck, if any or should I stick to a GTX? Raytracing sure, but meh.

System as is:

ASUS Z170-A S-1151 ATX

Intel Core i7 6700 / 3.4 GHz processor S-1151

Crucial Ballistix Elite 16GB 2666MHz DDR4 DIMM 288-pin

Samsung 950 PRO MZ-V5P256BW 256GB M.2 PCI Express 3.0 x4 (NVMe)

COOLER MASTER SILENT PRO ATX12V 2.3 700W

ANTEC MIDITOWER P193 EATX BLACK

EVGA is also a good manufacturer, and their customer support is leagues better.

Time for a PSU replacement my friend. They have lifespans too.

The 1070 ti has pretty similar gaming performance to 2070 depending on what cooler you get and how much you can overclock. GTX 1070 ti or 1080 from the used market would do nicely.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I need?
