What GPU is enough?

I've been looking at laptops recently, and I was wondering if I can achieve 1080p60 at medium to high settings on just a 1050 4 GB, or will I need a 1050 Ti? I don't typically play very graphically intensive games, just vehicle ones, and maybe the most intensive could be something like battlefield or fortnite. But nothing like Deus Ex. So what card do I need? Keep in mind that I am looking for laptops, so there aren't really AMD options.

I'd aim for a 1050Ti or 1060 of either variety.

Well a 1060 is pretty close to my R9 Fury, and I run medium/high 60+ fps in all but the newest of new games. So if you ask me, screw a 1050 (ti) as it will be unable to run games at 60fps much sooner than the 1060 in my opinion.

CPU: INTEL Core i7 4790k @ 4.7Ghz - Cooling: NZXT Kraken X61 - Mobo: Gigabyte Z97X SLI - RAM: 16GB G.Skill Ares 2400mhz - GPU: AMD Sapphire Nitro R9 Fury 4G - Case: Phanteks P350X - PSU: EVGA 750GQ - Storage: WD Black 1TB - Fans: 2x Noctua NF-P14s (Push) / 2x Corsair AF140 (Pull) / 3x Corsair AF120 (Exhaust) - Keyboard: Corsair K70 Cherry MX Red - Mouse: Razer Deathadder Chroma

Bit of an AMD fan I suppose. I don't bias my replies to anything however, I just prefer AMD and their products. Buy whatever the H*CK you want.

You'll need at least 1050ti for 60fps. But for stable 60fps and up a 1060 is required.

I have a 1050ti and its performing 30-50 fps on high settings, if i want to get 60fps i will need to turn down the settings.

A 1060 laptop cost a lot btw.

"People always fear change. People feared electricity when it was invented, didn't they? People feared coal, they feared gas-powered engines... There will always be ignorance, and ignorance leads to fear. But with time, people will come to accept their silicon masters."
