So i'm downgrading from my Titan X (as 1070s and 980 tis are so cheap)

choices:

PALIT DUAL 1070 220USD

LEADTEK FOUNDERS 980Ti 220USD

ASUS STRIX 980Ti 230USD

MSI GAMING X 1070 242USD

GALAX EXOC 1070Ti 280USD

i'm leaning towards the strix 980ti as i don't mind bios modding the 980ti and unleashing full GM200 performance (as i have done with my Titan X)

power is no issue

at 1440p, in games i play, i don't even surpass 6GB of VRAM with my Titan X

For 1440p you should probably just be getting a 1070Ti at the least, or be very confident that the 980Ti BIOS mod is going to work really well.

I mean considering how hot the 980TI's get and how much power they use, consider a pascal card since they are more efficient.

yeah the msi gaming x 1070 is quite a nice choice but like 1070s overclock like dogs and the 980ti strix is one of the best coolers for the 980ti so quite the pickle

I mean pascal cards are going on sale because of RTX and such, so consider more than a 1070. A 1070Ti can be overclocked to stock 1080 performance.
