Most manufacturers consider a certain number of dead or stuck pixels to be acceptable. Dead pixels are usually a lost cause but stuck pixels sometimes can be fixed. A stuck pixel often looks like a dead pixel but, if you look at it with a strong magnifying glass, you will be able to see if it is stuck on one color or if it's actually dead (it will be black.

You already tried one method of fixing a stuck/dead pixel with a 50% success rate. I would repeat that a few more times by rubbing the area rapidly and repeatedly with a microfiber cloth. Don't get carried away with the amount of pressure you apply. If that doesn't work, you can try using a free program called Dead Pixel Tester. Besides checking for deat/stuck pixels, it has a way of repeatedly cycling colors over the area where the offending pixel is which sometimes jars the stinker loose after running for a few hours to a few days. I've had some success with that.

One has to be proactive, not reactive, to ensure the safety of one's data so backup your data! And RAID is NOT a backup!
