Does AIMesh and VPN work?

So I was looking across the internet for a new router system to use at home and I came across the AIMesh thingy. At first, it seemed amazing but then I came across the prize. So much for "Get Faster WiFi with OLD Routers" Linus. Anyways, after taking some time into the details I came across a problem. Does AIMesh provide VPN support for all routers or does it disable it for the primary router when the service is enabled? I tried to find some information on the web but couldn't find anything so I thought I asked over here. Is it possible?

Also not really related to this but if anyone got any recommendations on mesh systems that are not too expensive please let me know. Plus if you got some DIY tips on the subject please share them and it would be gladly appreciated.
