Hi

I have a problem but I’m not sure what causes it, monitor or GPU. Sometimes on windows start-up - screen looks like this (picture below). It can also appear glitchy after waking windows up after being idle. I don’t know how to fix this problem. I have even cleaned my ssd (and only ssd) and put on fresh new win 10 but still no use.

Please help! :(

P.S - Monitor is 75hz AOC G2260VWQ6 and GPU is GTX1060 6GB Super Jetstream. All drivers are up to date though

Sounds peculiar.

For starters: I'd suggest you try another interface.

In other words. If you're currently running the monitor over HDMI; try changing to DVI or VGA and see if that helps.

Really this could be due to a number of different reasons, but by the sound of it, I'd say you're experiencing a driver related issue. Did you uninstall the display drivers before installing your 1060? If not then that's probably your culprit.

If nothing else works, try plugging the HDMI into your motherboard instead of the GPU. If the screen is OK, download DDU and then remove your current drivers by booting into safe mode. Then download and install latest drivers and see if the issue goes away. If not, the GPU is the problem.

I didn't uninstall anything. I just installed all drivers needed, no uninstaling. Also I' only using DP and I had already tried changing DP cables tho and DP gpu ports (there are 3 of them) but still nothing :/. No HDMI cable or DVI though...

Does your motherboard have a DP output? If yes, try plugging it there and see if the issue goes away.

If you don't mind me asking - did you have a GPU before your current one (if so what vendor and model) or were you relying on Intel's or AMD's built-in graphics? Installing graphics drivers above one another are a big no-no as they are bound to conflict.

No. Never relied on integrated graphics.

It doesn't.

Does your monitor support VGA/DVI/HDMI? The cheapest way to find the problem would be to buy a compatible cable that you can plug in to your motherboard so you can check if the issue occurs because of the GPU or the monitor. If it's the GPU, uninstall all drivers with DDU in safe mode and re-install Nvidia drivers. If that doesn't fix it, the problem is hardware related, you'll have to RMA the GPU and ask for a replacement or a refund.

It does support vga dvi and hdmi. I'll try your method ;) In case it doesn't work, I'll have to contact the store I suppose...

Nothing. 1060 was in from the start.

Oh, I was under the impression that you upgraded it. My mistake.

Without another monitor that you can test your GPU with, and without being able to try another interface, I can only recommend that you reinstall your graphics drivers.

Download the latest drivers

See "How to completely remove and reinstall graphics drivers" for help.
