Ok so I am taking apart my hp pavilion dv9000 laptop. And it has been over heating lately so I was going to clean it out and put some new thermal paste(arctic mx-4) on the cpu and gpu... But when I took the heatsink off of the GPU there was no thermal paste! So is it ok if I put some on? Or will I change the molecular weight of an atom and somehow blow my laptop up?

Life is pain. Anyone who says any different is either selling something or the government.

NO. We're going to have a convo about it anyway.

I did it twice. PITA both times. Just make sure you spread it out and don't use the pea method.

P95 temps went down from 111C to 80C for one of the notebooks. Yes 111C said HWMonitor :P

Ok so I got it all back together...And before I redid everything it was overheating and black screening or would not even boot. Now it is running good:0 I have to put a new OS on it before I can check my temps but I will let you peeps know when I find out:) Btw dont take apart a laptop without writing down where the screws go or without watching a tutorial first...
