Hi, long story short I plugged in my new rx580 while my pc was on. There was a clear blue colored spark when connected. I never plugged in the pcie power to the card. Now, my pc does nothing except amber light. I put in old psu and gtx750ti and nothing. Any help you be appreciated thanks!

Sounds like it's dead to me. The motherboard is dead I imagine. it doesn't take much if it's on and the wrong pin connects to voltage. GPU may be dead also. Not much you can do about it except get new parts and see what is still working.

Ok, I read in a different forum some guy did a similar thing and just needed a new mobo. Is that a actual real possibility. If there is still power to everything on my mobo fans my old card. Is that good?

Yeah might just be a new motherboard. I wouldn't be surprised if GPU was also dead though, because that spark when plugging it in while power was on isn't a good sign.

CPU and RAM are probably OK and hard drives will also be fine. Only things which are part of the motherboard are at risk. Hopefully they are ok, no way to be sure if the motherboard is damaged. Only can know once you replace the motherboard.

Ok, so it was just the mobo. Everything else is fine. However I’m back to my main problem. Installing the card. I can’t seem to Ok The reason being any time I unplugged my 750ti and plugged my rx580 in and had my hdmi plugged into onboard nothing happens. I’ve tried uninstalling the Nvidia drivers nothing works. Also, I tried to plug the rx580 in hot within the drivers ready to instal that did not work I had to order a new mobo. Thought my whole system. Any help would be great thanks!
