Does Anyone Remember this Game

I have quite vivid memories of a game from my childhood, probably around 2009/2010. But I cannot remember the name.

I played it in one of those websites with 100 online games or so. It was some kind of point and click cartoonish game about a red haired magic boy.

The initial setting was some kind of magic school which you had to get out, and in the end you activated some kind of light puzzle (be aware that at the time I didn't know english, so I had mostly no idea what the story was.

The combat system was something akin of chess, where 3 weaker pawns could merge to create a stronger unit.

The game was some sort of trial, because I remember reaching a part with a forest that said the trial was over.

I had forgotten this game existed for several years, but I now remember the concept was pretty cool, so I'm trying to see if I can find it again.
