So my wife has allowed me a strict $1800.00 budget to build a new pc. Kids have made that budget strict and to be honest if I could put it together for less it would probably be better. So my question is what would you suggest for a build. My primary use is streaming and gaming. I am just trying to get the best bang for my buck so to speak. I am pretty sure that it will be a few years before I get the opportunity to do it again. The pc I am replacing is AMD and several years old the asus MB fried on it.. any ideas and suggestions would be great and greatly appreciated.

Oh mighty Linus in still me with your wisdom..

If you don't need a monitor, keyboard and a mouse and just the PC, this is a great, future proof AMD Freesync build that will last for YEARS! I'm not sure if you're familiar with the Ryzen processors, but they are the best value right now when compared to Intel, and you aren't losing much, if any performance. They are great processors and AMD is about to launch a new lineup that is even better in early 2019, so you'll have a great upgrade path as well. If you're familiar with AMD and would like to upgrade to the new gen processors in 2019 I would go with a R5 2600 processor for now as it will be plenty for the time being, and even moreso if you're not into heavy editing.

If you need a monitor, let me know and I'll modify the parts list. If you want to save some money, you can get the R5 2600(X), downgrade the Vega 64 to Vega 56 and only get one storage device. Also, if you don't care about freesync, I recommend you get the RTX 2070 or RTX 2080! People might comment that you don't need an 850 watt PSU, and although they would be correct, that one is on sale and it wont hurt getting it lol (it was the cheapest fully modular one above 550 watts that is GOLD).

Good luck and let me know if you need help with anything.

Do you need a monitor? If not, the resolution of your monitor?

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
