Current setup is as follows:

CPU: i7 4790k 4.4Ghz

CPU Cooler: Corsair H60 (2016 maybe?)

MOBO: MSi z97 sli krait edition

RAM: 8Gb(2 x 4Gb 1866mhz ddr3)

GPU: EVGA GTX 970 4Gb

SSD: WD Black NVME 256Gb

HDD: x2 WD Black 2Tb

Case: Phanteks 400s TG

PSU: Fractal Desgin 750w 80+ Gold

Monitor: Acer 27" 1080p ips 60hz

I feel like it is time to upgrade something. However, I am getting decent to great frame rates on almost everything I play.

Currently BF V is the most graphically intense game I play and I get anywhere fro 60 to 90fps depending on the map.

My ram currently seems to be the only real bottle neck but when I hit my system the hardest it still stays at 80 to 90% usage.

I guess I can't really pin what I need or should upgrade. Everything seems to working just fine and I have no real issues with the games I play.

My brother tells me that I should upgrade to a 120 or 144hz panel but that would most likely mean I upgrade my GPU seeing my 970 cant even push 100fps on the games I currently play.

The only thing that I think I should upgrade is add more ram to 16Gb total (ddr3 seems to be more expensive than ddr4 and less in stock though) or replace my Corsair H60 (seems to not really handle the 4790k especially long gaming sessions the radiator gets hot to the touch.

Feel like I should keep this system and maybe tweak a few things to get another year or so out of it.

Yes, GPU and monitor are a hand in hand purchase, do so when you can do both.

I'd up to 16GB of RAM and a large capacity sata ssd.  Not NVME, I know you went with one for the boot drive but it's not worth it for storage.  Really that nvme drive is the fastest thing in your system relatively, by a lot.  Stay sata.
