So I been having this problem for a While now. I like to play Games Like Fortnite, GTA, Call of Duty which you need a good PC. I have the i5 7600 not the k version so I won't no over locking for me. I used to play games at medium to High Settings and I would get 60-100 but now I get 30-40 , I recently came to the conclusion that it was my CPU my temp used to be 80-100 now it's 60-70 because I Delid my CPU the FPS did increase only for few seconds so I tried turning of my pc for a few minutes to let the CPU cool down, At  30-40 degrees my FPS is about 90-100 but the CPU slowly Starts to heat up at round 60-70 then my FPS starts to go down to 30-40 FPS. I changed my CPU cooler and Thermal paste already I don't know if I should buy a new CPU or Buy a better CPU Cooler. Any Help Please

My PC Specs

  • i5 7600 non k Version
  • 8gb Ram
  • GTX 670

What about your gpu temperature? It is possible the increased CPU temperature caused a increase in air temperature in the case and caused the GPU to heat up and thermal throttle, unless you’re on liquid cooling.

What cooler do you have? 60-70C on a cpu is completely fine.

What CPU cooler do you have? What is your GPU's temp when gaming?

My GPU Temp is about 40 and my Cooler is the Arctic Alpine 12

Download Intel XTU and undervolt your CPU as much as possible. Then post your CPU load temp here.

What about CPU, GPU and RAM usage in game? An i5-7600 and GTX 760 should be getting 80-90ishFPS on high-highest settings 1080p in GTA V(Speaking from experience).

What bugs me the most right now is your CPU temps, If they got better with a delid that's awesome, but i'd look maybe into getting an aio cooler. The low profile Air cooler you have probably just can't handle the heat.

What do you recommend ?

Any 120mm/140mm AIOs are useless, many air coolers outperform them. Get a 240mm AIO like a Corsair H100i or NZXT Kraken X62. Before getting an AIO I’d suggest trying undervolting your cpu etc. since those are free solutions. 70C is normal for a CPU

Don't get an AIO liquid cooler (they're generally unreliable and overpriced compared to air coolers).

Get an air cooler instead like an Arctic Freezer 33 eSports ONE.

Other air coolers include be quiet! Dark Rock Slim, Cooler Master Hyper 212(all the variations like evo, led etc are basically the same cooler). If you want slightly beefier/quieter cooling, you could go for the Cryorig H7

Well I tried undervlolting the cpu and it says my  temperature 49 degrees seems to have gone down so far it's good
