Hello,

So whenever I try to set my RAM to the supposed rated speed on my Bios, I am unable to boot.

So here are my Specs.

CPU: 2700X

MB: X470 MAXIMUS CROSSHAIR HERO VII

RAM: 16 Gig DDR4 Crosshair Vengeance RGB rated at 3000Mhz.

So I've tried multiple things,

Since my memory is rated at 3000 Mhz, I think it's obvious that I should try to make it run at that speed, so I've tried setting it manually to 3000 Mhz, and Changing from Auto to DOCP at 3000 Mhz.

But whenever I exit the bios, pc won't boot, it beeps a few times, resets and hits me with the error there was a problem with your Memory configuration, hit F1 to configure.

Will I not be able to set my Ram speed?, Right now I have it set to auto, which seems to put it on 2133Mhz.

Are you changing the DRAM voltage when you change the speed? Do the DOCP settings change the DRAM voltage when you set it? If not, you should change it.

There is a possibility that the conversion from XMP to DOCP is not working properly. The first thing you may want to try is to make sure that it is setting all your timings and voltages correctly.

If that doesn't yield a solution, set the RAM to auto and boot into memtest86. Run a full standard test at those speeds and see if everything is working properly. If memtest86 gives errors, then we can go from there. Otherwise, the problem may lie elsewhere.

Have you already overclocked the processor?

It looks like DOCP settings may be changing DRAM voltage, but I'd have to check again, I honestly hadn't done much memory overclocking and I thought it'd definitely be simpler taking into account the profile options and DOCP on this board.

As of Now I have my CPU set to DOC(4) Or something like that, but it seems to be running as normal, 3700 Mhz and boosting depending on use.

okay

so you want to keep it at stable 3000Mhz

What motherboard do you have? I'd like to look up the manual and see what "performance enhancer" is.

  • 2 weeks later...

So I'm still having this problem, I can't seem to use any of the memory presets for 3000 Mhz, I am very new when it comes to Memory overclocking, I honestly thought since the memory was rated at 3000 Mhz, I'd be able to just select a preset out of the bios for it to work. Doesn't seem to be the case.

I'd appreciate any Help, I'm using a Kit of Corsair Vengeance RGB 2X8GB 3000Mhz, Not sure who is supposed to be the manufacturer, I'm sure it's not Samsung, probably Hynix,  SIV lists it as Hyundai for manufacturer.
