Hi guys,

so a few years ago i upraded my ram (DDR3) from 2x4Gb 1866Mhz to 2x8GB 2400Mhz. Unfortunately i only got it to 2133Mhz with X.M.P. but i also did not adjust the voltage manually because i was too scared ?

Now i was thinking why not put in both?

Since ram speed in my opinion did not really make a difference, the step 8Gb-->16Gb really did.

So here are the specs:

8Gb 1866Mhz Kit: https://www.corsair.com/uk/en/Categories/Products/Memory/Vengeance®-—-8GB-Dual-Channel-DDR3-Memory-Kit/p/CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9B

Corsair Vengance

Timings: 9-10-9-27

16Gb 2400Mhz Kit: https://www.gskill.com/en/product/f3-2400c11d-16gab

G.Skill Ares

Timings: 11-13-13-31

Manboard: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8Z77V/specifications/

P8Z77-V

Intel i5 3570K @ 4.0Ghz

I guess i would have to go down to 1866Mhz again but thats not really a problem for me if i get 24Gb ram in the end. I'm not sure what to do with the timings. May i just select X.M.P. for 1866Mhz or adjust it manually? I've heard that mixing brands may be a bit itchy but i can go back anytime so I would like to give it a try anyways.

I'm thankful for any help :)
