Games Being Weird?

Stickbug

I have been having trouble with certain things with my new computer. I built it myself, and for some reason it's been freezing in a lot of games and i haven't been able to find any solutions over the internet, so i just decided to try asking here. What ends up happening is I'll be in the game for a fairly short amount of time, maybe 5-10 minutes, then the game itself freezes. Everything else on the desktop is fine, windows is working fine, just the game freezes. I've updated to the latest BIOS and GPU drivers, and im just kind of stuck. Any Suggestions?

CPU- AMD Ryzen 3 2200g

GPU- Gigabyte GTX 1050 2gb

RAM- Corsair Vengeance 2400 mhz 8gb (1 stick)

MB- Asus a320m-k

PSU- 500w 80+ platnum EVGA

What games?

Are there any background applications open during the freeze?

No, I try to keep everything off. There might be some background applications like Steam Web stuff etc. But nothing that would really break anything.

The only games that haven't crashed are (don't call me a dweeb) are Minecraft and Roblox. All of the games that have frozen up til this point have been steam games. Games like Rage, CS:GO, and Ring of Elysium.

Make sure you are connecting your monitor cable to the back of the GTX 1050, and NOT to the back of the motherboard.

Make sure you have the necessary motherboard / LAN / chipset drivers installed -- some of them are not automatically installed by Windows.

Some of the newer drivers are not compatible with old versions of Windows 10, so make sure your installation of Windows is up-to-date.

For an example, the latest version currently is 1809 - Redstone 5.

The more recent drivers are not compatible with version 1703 - Redstone 2 - or older.

It seems that the chipset drivers helped, but some of my games still freeze. Is it maybe my ram?
