so i bought assassins creed odyssey 2 weeks ago and just cause 4 2 days ago and they both started giving me major problems. it started last week with assassins creed and when i first started just cause 4. both games would either crash on the loading screen, or i would get into the game and it would literally cut my normal fps in half to the point the game is unplayable. i thought it was just an optimization issue and waited for a patch, but nothing has happened so i am starting to think there is something wrong with my system. can anyone help?

specs: gtx 1080 ti, i7 6700, 32g 2133 mhz ram

Happens to me a lot after AC: Odyssey's latest update. Sometinmes it goes away after a few mins, other times I have to restart the game.

My hypothesis: More Ubisoft shenanigans.

Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.9 Ghz  | Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 |  PaliT GTX 1050Ti  |  8gb Kingston HyperX Fury @ 2933 Mhz  |  Corsair CX550m  |  1 TB WD Blue HDD

Inside some old case I found lying around.

nVidia's latest GPU driver gave me a lot of issues, I would revert back to the version before the current latest build. Yet, this was only a problem for my 980 Ti SLI desktop, yet my 1070 laptop does not have any issues with the latest GPU driver from nVidia. So, try reverting back to a older driver.

ok so i think i fixed the crashing problem, but after that i reverted to the last drivers and that did nothing about the fps problem

Well, honestly, Ubishit I mean Ubisoft, has a DRM program that tanks performance in AC Odyssey. Just Cause 4 has some, well, not so good reviews on the PC at the moment. If this issue is isolated to these two games, then I would blame the software, if the issue happens on other games, then I would be concerned. Have you tried DDU? I had to use DDU recently, and it fixed all of my "weird" issues I would have sometimes.

yea it's not happening with any other games yet. i was playing fortnite earlier and it was running perfectly fine. also what is DDU ive never heard of it
