RDP Connestion issue

Arkmaster

So I am having trouble with an RDP on one WiFi network. I have switched to a different network and was able to connect with no issues, but when connected the problem network, it says that the remote computer is not turned on. That is not the case though. I am remoted into the server on a separate session. I have also checked the RDP Defender and the Windows Firewall for the public IP of the computer that is trying to connect when it is on the problem network. Any suggestions on what to try next?

Problem network is a WiFi network. Located in a different city than the server that I am trying to connect to.

Well of course it'll not work. You're in a different city. Where is the server located?

The remote desktop connection is set up to allow it to connect. It can connect just fine on a different network such as a phone hotspot for example, but when trying to connect to it on the WiFi network that it needs to be on, it won't work and will say that the remote computer is not turned on.

This WiFi network, is it in your home, school, place of work? What is OS is the server running?

Correct. The RDP connection has been set up and works fine on other WiFi networks, but it is not working on the one that it needs to be on.

I guess It's not configured to be access via the specific network. Speak to who manages the network and ask them to allow the connection to the server

It is probably blocked at your work, try changing the port used by RDP

OP mention that he can access via other networks. Most likely the specific network does not have access to the server via ACLs
